Worst Confession Ever

There's a McDonald's across the street from Work, and on my way home today, I had the HUGEST craving. Thankfully, it's the last day of Ramadan, and so the craving could not be acted on. See why fasting is good for you?

p.s. Happy Eid to all!!

Driving in Richmond Hill at around noon yesterday, I passed by a Nando's (pretty good chicken restaurant chain in the GTA). It occurred to me then that, if I felt like it, I could just walk in and eat then and there. My thought was "I can eat whenever I want. Wow. That's unusual."

I found it interesting that I didn't really feel the "identifying with the hungry" aspect of fasting during Ramadan itself (although I felt other benefits, Al Hamd Li Allah), but that it really hit me during Eid.

Happy Eid!

Happy Eid to you too!
You know what's funny? When I was younger, fasting was much easier, and I didn't feel the "identifying with the hungry aspect" as much, but for the last 2-3 years, I've felt it much more. Hunger pangs are REAL! I'm SOOOO much more grateful for my food this week than I have been since last year after Ramadan... and I don't think it's just the longer days, because I fasted in April before when I was younger and the days were roughly the same length.
